Meet the our pastor

Bill Lawler

Born in 1972. Grew up in Claysville, PA. One of two Children to Jim and Carolyn Lawler. I have an older sister who is a nurse and lives in Xenia, Ohio. I grew up in the United Methodist church attending Claysville United Methodist Church where I served as SPRC Chair, On Outreach committee, as an usher as well as a Certified Lay Speaker. Also served as a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT. I also served the Liberty United Methodist Church as SPRC Chair, Worship Leader, and Lay Leader. I graduated from McGuffey High School in 1990 and began working as an EMT. I have served as a Funeral Directors assistant, and as a job developer for intellectually disabled individuals. Served as a Basketball, Volleyball and Softball coach for PA Special Olympics as well as serving on the Washington County Board as a competition coordinator.

I accepted my call into Ministry in 2017.
Served the Fairview/Nebo Charge in the Washington District as a Supply Pastor starting in July 2027 and in 2018 I took the commuter licensing school and my first appointment was to the Fairview/Nebo Charge. In 2022 I was appointed to Avery United Methodist Church. I serve as the UM Men leader in Washington District as well as on the district lay speaking committee. I also have served as a camp counselor for Discovery Camp at Jumonville since 2003 and am now the dean of discovery camp. I also serve on the WPAUMC Connectional Leadership Team.

I am a 2026 graduate from in Course of Study at MTSO.

I married my wife Karin in 2001 and we have been blessed with 2 children a daughter Charley who is on the varsity basketball team, in FFA, in 4H, shoots rifle competitively, bowls in a couple leagues and raises rabbits, chickens and pigs. We also have a son Lehman who is involved in 4H, bowling, shoots rifle competitively, raises ducks, rabbits and pigs.. 

My hobbies include fishing, helping children with their animals, gardening or any outdoor activity.
